LEON COUNTY, Fla. – FEMA Disaster Survivor Assistance (DSA) teams are actively working in Leon County communities affected by the severe storms and tornadoes of May 10th. Their mission is to assist residents with applying for FEMA aid and connect them with other essential disaster resources.

Easily identifiable by their FEMA attire and federal photo ID badges, DSA team members work in pairs, conducting door-to-door visits in impacted neighborhoods.

They also engage with faith and community-based organizations to share vital information about disaster assistance.

Survivors have multiple options to apply for FEMA assistance:

  • Phone: 800-621-3362 (7 a.m. to 11 p.m. ET)

Homeowners can expect a visit from FEMA home inspectors to verify losses. FEMA will contact applicants directly to schedule these inspections. Inspectors will carry photo ID badges and reference the applicant’s application number.
