Pasco Sheriff’s Office Completes Over 200 Water Rescues As Hurricane Helene Floodwaters Recede

Federal disaster assistance has been approved for Florida to support recovery efforts in areas impacted by Hurricane Helene. This assistance, authorized by President Joe Biden, will provide various forms of aid to affected individuals and communities in 17 designated counties.

Available Assistance for Individuals

Residents in Charlotte, Citrus, Dixie, Franklin, Hernando, Hillsborough, Jefferson, Lafayette, Lee, Levy, Madison, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, Sarasota, Taylor, and Wakulla counties may be eligible for:  

  • Grants for temporary housing and home repairs
  • Low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses
  • Other programs to assist individuals and business owners in their recovery

Funding for State and Local Governments

Federal funding is also available on a cost-sharing basis to state, tribal, eligible local governments, and certain private nonprofit organizations for emergency work in the designated counties. Additionally, cost-sharing funding is available statewide for hazard mitigation measures.

  • Using the FEMA App
