HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – Residents of Hillsborough County affected by Hurricane Debby can now apply for financial assistance through FEMA’s Individuals and Households Program (IHP).

This program offers financial and direct services to help individuals and households with uninsured or under-insured necessary expenses and serious needs caused by the disaster.

What FEMA Assistance Covers:

  • Funds for temporary housing, like rental assistance or hotel reimbursements.
  • Funds for repairing or replacing owner-occupied primary residences, including private access routes.
  • Temporary housing units, if approved, when rental assistance isn’t feasible due to lack of housing.
  • Funds for hazard mitigation to rebuild stronger, more durable homes.
  • Funds for other uninsured or under-insured disaster-related expenses.

How to Apply:

  1. Visit FEMA.gov/Assistance/Individual
  2. Click on “Apply for Assistance”
  3. Select “Florida” under List of Disasters and then choose “Hillsborough County” to create an account and complete your application.
  4. After applying, check the same website for updates on your application status.
