Eugenio Gonzalez-Paredes, 53, of the Dominican Republic, has pleaded guilty to making a false statement to a federally licensed firearms dealer in Deltona, Florida.
According to court documents, Gonzalez-Paredes attempted to purchase a Glock pistol.
As part of the purchase process, he was required to complete a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Form 4473. On the form, he falsely answered “No” to the question of whether he had ever been convicted of a felony.

However, Gonzalez-Paredes had previously been convicted twice in the United States District Court in the District of Puerto Rico for illegal reentry by a previously deported alien, which constitutes a felony.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection conducted the investigation, and Assistant United States Attorney Megan Testerman is prosecuting the case.
