Jared Sebaugh, a 36-year-old former inmate at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Schuylkill in Minersville, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced to 35 months in prison for assaulting another inmate with a makeshift weapon.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced that Sebaugh pleaded guilty to the assault, which occurred in February 2023. He admitted to using a prison-made weapon, consisting of a combination lock attached to a cloth strap, to attack another inmate with intent to do bodily harm.

At the time of the assault, Sebaugh was serving a sentence from the Northern District of Ohio for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. That sentence has since expired.

The investigation was conducted jointly by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Bureau of Prisons Special Investigative Service. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Robert J. O’Hara.
