BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – A Central High School student is facing serious consequences after allegedly posting a threat to “shoot up” the school on social media.
The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office received a tip from the FBI on December 2nd regarding an Instagram post that read, “This is how I’m going to shoot up Central High School Lunch B December 3rd, 2024.”
Detectives quickly traced the IP address associated with the post to a residence in Spring Hill and identified Sebastian Stefany, 16, as a suspect. Stefany, a student at Central High School, admitted to creating the post but claimed he intended it as a joke.

Despite his claims that he meant no harm, Stefany was arrested and charged with felony written threats to kill/injure. He was transported to the Hernando County Detention Center and later transferred to a juvenile detention facility in Ocala.
