MARION COUNTY, Fla. – A father and son in Marion County, Florida, have been sentenced to lengthy prison terms for a violent attack that left a man with severe injuries.
Vincent Paul Gaudio, 50, and his son, William Trent Gaudio, 18, were convicted in September of aggravated battery with great bodily harm and tampering with a witness. This week, a judge sentenced Vincent to 15 years and William to 20 years in state prison.
The charges stem from an incident in September 2023 where the Gaudios attacked a man riding his bicycle near a Dunnellon convenience store.

The victim reported that the father and son emerged from a wooded area and assaulted him, knocking him off his bike and then punching and kicking him in the head and chest. When the victim attempted to call 911, the Gaudios took his phone and destroyed it.
The victim suffered significant injuries, including a fractured orbital bone, and required hospitalization.
“The victim in this case was targeted and brutally attacked by the defendants,” said Bill Gladson, Fifth Judicial Circuit State Attorney. “I believe the court’s sentencing decision greatly reflects the severity of the crime and guarantees justice for the victim.”
Assistant State Attorney Tucker O’Neill prosecuted the case, securing a conviction that will result in substantial prison time for both defendants.
