HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – A teenage boy was tragically shot and killed outside the Citrus Park Town Center Mall on Saturday night. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene around 7:16 p.m. after receiving a 911 call reporting gunfire.
The victim was rushed to St. Joseph’s Hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after.

Detectives are actively investigating the incident and are interviewing multiple witnesses to identify the shooter(s).
“This senseless act of violence not only robbed a family of their loved one but caused unnecessary fear and trauma to dozens of people who were just trying to enjoy their Saturday night at the mall,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Our detectives are using every resource available to hold those responsible for this tragedy accountable.”
