RIVERVIEW, Fla. – A road rage incident turned deadly Sunday afternoon in Riverview, leaving one man dead and authorities searching for the shooter.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a shooting on Highway 301 near Bloomingdale Avenue around 2:15 p.m. Deputies arrived to find a man with gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was transported to Brandon Regional Hospital but tragically succumbed to his injuries.
According to preliminary information, the shooting stemmed from a road rage incident where one vehicle cut off another, leading to a fatal altercation. The suspect fled the scene after the shooting.

“There is never a justification for an altercation to end in violence,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Our detectives are fully committed to this investigation, and we will ensure that justice is served for the victim.”
