TAMPA, Fla. – A fatal car accident early Saturday morning has closed a section of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Tampa.
Tampa Police officers responded to a single-vehicle crash in the 3000 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard around 2:37 AM. The victim was transported to a local hospital but tragically succumbed to their injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
Both eastbound and westbound lanes of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard are currently closed between North 30th Street and North 34th Street. Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes.
