BARTOW, Fla. – A fatal crash closed the eastbound lanes of State Road 60 in Bartow, causing significant traffic delays on Tuesday. The roadway has since reopened.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit was on the scene of the crash, which occurred east of Bonnie Mine Road and west of Bartow.

Details about the crash are limited at this time, but authorities have confirmed that it was a fatal incident.
Eastbound lanes of SR 60 were completely shut down while investigators work at the scene. Drivers were urged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes until further notice.
