TAMPA, Fla. – Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) detectives have identified and located the suspect in a homicide investigation that unfolded in Tampa overnight.
The victim, 58-year-old Heidi Berberovic, was found deceased inside her residence on the 5300 block of Southwick Drive late Friday evening. The suspect, identified as her estranged spouse, 55-year-old Jasmin Berberovic, was later found deceased with a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound.
According to HCSO, the Communications Center received a call regarding possible shots fired near the Southwick Drive address at approximately 9:34 p.m. on Friday, April 25, 2025. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Heidi Berberovic with upper body trauma inside the home.

Through their subsequent investigation, detectives were able to identify Jasmin Berberovic as the primary suspect in the homicide. Their efforts to locate him led them to a residence on the 5600 block of Tranquility Oaks Drive on Saturday, April 26, 2025, where they discovered him deceased with what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
“This is a heartbreaking case of domestic violence that has left a family and community mourning,” stated Sheriff Chronister. “Our detectives worked quickly to uncover the truth and locate the suspect. We remain committed to seeking justice for victims and supporting those impacted by these tragic events.”
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation into this incident. No further details are being released at this time.
