Elon Musk and X Corp. CEO Linda Yaccarino have filed a lawsuit against the Global Alliance for Responsible Media (GARM) and several major advertisers, accusing them of illegally boycotting the social media platform and causing billions in lost revenue.
Musk declared “war” on the advertisers in a post on X, following Yaccarino’s open letter detailing the company’s efforts to work with marketers and address concerns.
The lawsuit claims GARM and its members conspired to withhold advertising from X, despite the platform’s significant user growth.
This legal action follows a U.S. House Judiciary Committee report highlighting GARM’s negative impact on online speech. X’s advertising revenue has dropped sharply since Musk’s takeover, with major companies reducing or pausing spending due to concerns about misinformation and hate speech.

The lawsuit comes on the heels of a federal judge’s ruling against Google for violating antitrust law, adding another layer to the ongoing debate about competition and fair practices in the tech industry.
