DUNEDIN, Fla. – The City of Dunedin is offering pre-filled sandbags to residents and business owners in anticipation of heavy rain and potential flooding from the approaching tropical system.
The distribution will take place at Highlander Park parking lot (903 Michigan Blvd) on Tuesday, September 24th, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. or until supplies run out.

Once the pre-filled bags are gone, residents can still get sand and empty bags to fill themselves. Proof of residency, such as a driver’s license or recent utility bill, is required, and there’s a limit of 15 bags per person. Shovels and assistance for those with special needs will be available on-site.
Remember, sandbags are most effective for flooding less than 15 inches deep and won’t protect against significant storm surge or waves.
