POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A Dundee man was arrested Wednesday after deputies found him hiding under a bed while attempting to avoid arrest on an outstanding warrant. His brother was also arrested for hindering the investigation.
Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a residence on Main Street in Dundee, searching for 32-year-old Oscar Ignacio Beteta, who had an active warrant for failure to appear on a petit theft charge.

When deputies arrived, they were met by 52-year-old Oscar Laureano Beteta, the suspect’s brother. The elder Oscar claimed that his brother was not at the residence and had gone to Atlanta. However, deputies discovered the younger Oscar hiding under a bed in a bedroom.
Both brothers were arrested. Oscar Ignacio Beteta was arrested on his outstanding warrant, and Oscar Laureano Beteta was charged with obstructing the investigation.
