TAMPA, Fla. – A 22-year-old man was arrested after fleeing from deputies who attempted to serve him with a warrant for possession of an operable machine gun, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO).
The incident occurred on April 3, 2025. Deputies attempted to serve the warrant to Carl Bennett, but the man fled on foot. The HCSO’s drone operator was able to track his movements from the air. The drone operator observed Bennett throw a firearm over a fence.

“Suspects can attempt to flee, but our deputies do a great job tracking them down and bringing them to justice,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “We will continue to use all technology at our disposal to find and arrest criminals.”
