BROOKSVILLE, FL. – The traffic signal at US 98 and CR 491 (Citrus Way) is now in full operation.
According to FDOT, the light had been in flash mode since late November 2021 until becoming fully operational today.
Drivers should be alert to the new, temporary signal and be prepared to stop in all directions. The signal will be used to control traffic safely until the construction of the new roundabout is completed in spring 2023.
Drivers should also be alert to traffic shifts on US 98 in the project area and drive within the posted 30 MPH speed limit.
County Road 491 (Citrus Way) closed on March 18, 2022, on the south side of the US 98 intersection. No access to/from CR 491 on the south side of US 98 is available to drivers around-the-clock through approximately December 2022. CR 491 is open only for local residents from Lake Lindsey Road to south of US 98 (access to US 98 is blocked).
