A cruise ship, the Disney Treasure, came to the rescue of four people stranded at sea on a disabled catamaran. The incident occurred hundreds of miles off the coast of Bermuda on Sunday.

The 50-foot catamaran, Serenity, encountered difficulties when its escape hatch malfunctioned, causing water to flood the vessel.

The U.S. Coast Guard issued a distress call, and the Disney Treasure, which was nearby, responded to the emergency.

A lifeboat was launched from the cruise ship to rescue the four people aboard the Serenity. The Coast Guard also dispatched a HC-130 aircraft to monitor the situation.

Disney Cruise Line commended its crew for their swift and effective response to the distress call. The rescued individuals were brought aboard the Disney Treasure and provided with necessary assistance.
