As soon as Wednesday, the Florida House could pass a measure that would require disclaimers on political advertisements created using generative artificial intelligence.
House members discussed the bill Tuesday, positioning it for a vote. The proposal (HB 919) would require disclaimers on political advertisements containing “images, video, audio, graphics or other digital content” created using the technology.

“Created in whole or in part with the use of generative artificial intelligence (AI),” such disclaimers would have to say.
The Florida Elections Commission could adopt rules to conduct expedited hearings related to complaints about alleged violations. A similar Senate bill (SB 850) is ready for consideration by the full Senate.
