Tyrone Eugene Sitton, also known as “Dirty,” 46, of Asheville, has been sentenced to 151 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, for fentanyl trafficking and firearm offenses.

U.S. Attorney Russ Ferguson for the Western District of North Carolina announced the sentencing.

The sentencing followed an investigation involving the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office, and the Asheville Police Department.

According to court documents and the sentencing hearing, Sitton distributed 30.1 grams of fentanyl in the Asheville area between November and December 2022. He sold fentanyl on at least three occasions to a confidential informant working with the ATF. Additionally, on December 28, 2022, Sitton sold the informant three firearms: a shotgun, a rifle, and a pistol.

Sitton pleaded guilty on July 29, 2024, to three counts of distribution of fentanyl and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon. Court records revealed that Sitton had multiple prior drug distribution convictions in North Carolina, leading to an enhanced sentence under career offender guidelines.
