WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. – Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged 30-year-old Erik Delano Davis of Detroit in connection with the murder of retired Detroit Police Department officer Stefon Hodo, 41, and the non-fatal shootings of a 39-year-old woman and a 47-year-old man, both from Detroit.
On June 30, 2022, around 11:10 a.m., Detroit police responded to a reported shooting at a residence on the 15300 block of Ferguson Street. Officers found the 39-year-old female victim at the scene, who had not been injured. Later, at approximately 2:27 p.m., officers were called back to the same location for another shooting. This time, they found the 47-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his hand. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The investigation led authorities to the residence of Mr. Hodo on the 14900 block of Ferguson Street. A missing person report had been filed for Hodo on June 30, 2022. Two weeks later, on July 14, 2022, Mr. Hodo’s body was discovered in a Detroit park. The medical examiner ruled his death a homicide, citing multiple sharp force injuries to the head.
Prosecutors allege that on June 28, 2022, Davis killed Mr. Hodo during an argument and then moved his body to another location. He is also accused of breaking into Hodo’s home, stealing his vehicle and handgun. Two days later, on June 30, 2022, Davis allegedly used Hodo’s vehicle and gun in the non-fatal shootings of the two other victims. Detroit police arrested Davis on July 1, 2022.

Davis was arraigned in 36th District Court before Magistrate Laura Echartea and has been remanded to jail. His Probable Cause Conference is set for September 25, 2024, at 8:30 a.m., and his Preliminary Examination is scheduled for October 2, 2024, at 1:45 p.m., before Judge Kenneth King.
