Detectives Investigating Inmate Death At Pinellas County Jail

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – Detectives from the Robbery/Homicide Unit are investigating the death of 74-year-old Milosov Stevanovic, who passed away while in custody at the Pinellas County Jail.

Stevanovic was booked into the jail on February 1, 2025, on charges of Violation of Probation – Uttering Forged Check / Grand Theft and Violation of Probation Forgery / Petit Theft.

On February 7, 2025, at approximately 1:43 a.m., Stevanovic was transported to the hospital for medical reasons. He remained hospitalized until February 10, 2025, when he was pronounced deceased at 3:53 p.m.

Preliminary investigations indicate that Stevanovic was not involved in any physical altercations or sustained any injuries while incarcerated. Detectives have found no evidence to suggest that his death was suspicious in nature.

Stevanovic’s next of kin has been notified. The investigation is ongoing.
