DeSantis Reappoints Jeanette Nuñez As Chair Of Space Florida Board Of Directors

Governor Ron DeSantis announced today the reappointment of Jeanette Nuñez as Chair of the Space Florida Board of Directors. The appointment, which is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate, reflects continued support for the state’s efforts to bolster its aerospace and space industry initiatives.

Jeanette Nuñez brings a wealth of experience in public service and higher education to the role.

Currently serving as Interim President of Florida International University, Nuñez previously held the office of Lieutenant Governor of Florida since 2018.

During her tenure as Lieutenant Governor, she oversaw the Florida Department of Health, led the Florida Cybersecurity Advisory Council, and served on the Statewide Council on Human Trafficking.

Prior to her statewide service, Nuñez served as a State Representative in the Florida House of Representatives from 2010 to 2018, where she was named Speaker Pro Tempore from 2016 to 2018.

Nuñez earned her bachelor’s degree in political science and international relations and her master’s degree in public administration from Florida International University.
