It seems that DeSantis Airlines is back up and running, and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis says Haitians could be coming to a town near you. Specifically Martha’s Vineyard.
The Sunshine State Governor appeared on the Dana Show on Tuesday, speaking on the anticipated surge of Haitian migrants that the state’s shore could see.
“When you get to a situation like Florida is if they have people in our in our state and we wanted to fly them, say back to Haiti, you have to get clearance to be able to do that. If you wanted to fly somebody to a South American country, wherever they’re from, it becomes a little bit more difficult because their federal government’s going to tell the host countries not to accept our plane,” said DeSantis.

“So, we’ve gone through these iterations. What could we do as States? I definitely think we can help put them back over the border if they come across Texas or Arizona. Help do that. I think that the states really have no other choice but to do that, at that point, It’s a little bit different for a maritime state like us,” said DeSantis.
“That’s why we really have to get them before they reach the shores, and that’s why we’re working so hard to do that,” said DeSantis,
“Although I will say this, we do have our transport program also that’s going to be operational. So if Haitians land in the Florida Keys, their next stop very well may be Martha’s Vineyard,” said DeSantis.
DeSantis was hit with a lawsuit in September 2022 that alleged Venezuelan migrants were lured with false promises to fly last week from Texas to Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts.
The lawsuit, which has since been dismissed, was filed in federal court in Massachusetts, named as defendants DeSantis, the state of Florida, Florida Department of Transportation Secretary Jared Perdue, and unidentified people accused of rounding up migrants in Texas.

Florida paid for two flights out of a $12 million pot of money that Republican lawmakers included in the state budget at DeSantis’ request for relocating migrants.
DeSantis spokeswoman Taryn Fenske issued a statement at the time saying it is “opportunistic that activists would use illegal immigrants for political theater. If these activists spent even a fraction of this time and effort at the border, perhaps some accountability would be brought to the Biden Administration’s reckless border policies that entice illegal immigrants to make dangerous and often lethal journeys through Central America and put their lives in the hands of cartels and coyotes.”
“The transportation of the immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard was done on a voluntary basis,” Fenske said. “The immigrants were homeless, hungry, and abandoned — and these activists didn’t care about them then. Florida’s program gave them a fresh start in a sanctuary state, and these individuals opted to take advantage of chartered flights to Massachusetts.”
