In the Tuesday Florida school board primaries, candidates endorsed by the Democratic Party generally outperformed those backed by Governor Ron DeSantis.
Of the 23 candidates DeSantis supported, six won their primaries, 11 were defeated, and six are headed to runoff elections in November.
Conversely, the Florida Democratic Party saw seven of its 11 endorsed candidates win their primaries, with two losses and two heading to runoffs.

Notable races included Hillsborough County, where Democratic-endorsed Nadia Combs and Jessica Vaughn secured victories over DeSantis-backed Layla Collins and Myosha Powell.
In Duval County, DeSantis-endorsed Melody Bolduc narrowly defeated Sarah Mannion, while in Miami-Dade, incumbent Mary Blanco, also backed by DeSantis, faces a runoff against Democrat Max Tuchman.
