HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies are on the scene of a vehicle rollover accident near a flooded ditch at the intersection of FL-674 and Alderman Turner Rd.

Due to slick conditions and potential flooding, drivers are urged to avoid the area and exercise extreme caution on the roads.

Numerous roadways across the state have been inundated with water, causing dangerous driving conditions and leading to several accidents, including a fatal truck crash on I-75.

Authorities are urging drivers to exercise extreme caution and avoid flooded roads altogether.

Driving through flooded waters can be deceptively dangerous. Even a few inches of water can cause a vehicle to lose control or stall, while deeper water can sweep a vehicle away. Additionally, flooded roads can conceal hidden hazards such as debris, potholes, or downed power lines.

The risks are not limited to drivers. Pedestrians and cyclists are also at risk of being swept away or injured by debris in floodwaters. Attempting to navigate flooded roads can strain emergency resources, diverting responders from other critical tasks.
