Deputies Arrest Pinellas County Schools Student For Threats To Commit School Shooting

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – Deputies arrested a Pinellas County Schools student for a False Report Concerning Planting a Bomb, an Explosive, or a Weapon of Mass Destruction or Concerning the Use of Firearms in a Violent Manner.

Deputies state that 12-year-old Christopher Blain brought a replica gun to school and told another student he was going to use it to take out his anger on students and teachers at Carwise Middle School. During the investigation, Blain admitted to bringing the replica gun to school to be “cool” and stated if he had made any threats, they were a joke.

According to deputies, the replica firearm resembled the appearance of a real firearm.

Blain was arrested and charged with one count of False Report Concerning Planting a Bomb, an Explosive, or a Weapon of Mass Destruction or Concerning the Use of Firearms in a Violent Manner. He was transported to the Pinellas Juvenile Assessment Center.
