The investigation into the shocking murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson has taken a chilling turn with the discovery of cryptic messages etched onto the bullet casings found at the crime scene.

Thompson was gunned down Wednesday morning outside the New York Hilton Midtown hotel, where he was scheduled to attend a UnitedHealth Group investor meeting. Surveillance video captured the brazen attack, showing a masked gunman shooting Thompson in the back and then again in the front after his gun initially jammed.

The NYPD is now focusing on the messages found on the bullet casings, which read “defend,” “deny,” and “depose.” These cryptic words suggest a possible motive or message behind the targeted killing, adding another layer of complexity to the investigation.

The suspect, who fled the scene on an e-bike, remains at large. He was last seen in Central Park Wednesday morning. Police are urging anyone with information to come forward as they continue to pursue leads in this high-profile case.
