Davenport Man Wanted In Arkansas On Federal Fentanyl Trafficking Warrant Arrested In Polk County

POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A 38-year-old Davenport man, Luis Marquez Garcia, was apprehended by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) on Wednesday, according to a PCSO press release.

Deputies were alerted to Marquez Garcia’s location at approximately 7:45 PM after receiving information about an active felony warrant issued by the U.S. Marshals. Authorities reported that Marquez Garcia had fled Fayetteville, Arkansas, where he was wanted for Trafficking in Fentanyl.

Responding to a residence on Bent Oak Loop in Davenport, Polk County deputies successfully took Marquez Garcia into custody without any reported incidents.

Following his arrest, Marquez Garcia was transported to the Polk County Jail. He is currently awaiting transfer to the custody of the U.S. Marshals to face the federal charges in Arkansas.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office has not released any further details regarding the circumstances of the warrant or the alleged trafficking activities in Fayetteville.
