HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Deputies are currently on the scene of flooding in District 3, where both Dana Shores Drive and Rocky Shores Drive are closed due to the impact of Hurricane Debby.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and exercise extreme caution while driving as heavy rainfall and storm surge continue to affect the region.

We will provide updates on road closures and safety information as they become available. Residents are encouraged to stay informed through official channels and heed all warnings from local authorities.

Rivers across the state are overflowing, with the St. Johns River in Northeast Florida expected to reach historic levels. Numerous roads and bridges are impassable, hindering rescue efforts and causing widespread power outages.

Coastal communities are facing severe storm surge, with some areas experiencing inundation levels exceeding predictions. Emergency shelters have been opened throughout the state, and residents are being urged to heed evacuation orders and seek higher ground.

The flooding has also impacted major transportation routes, with the Sunshine Skyway Bridge and the Howard Frankland Bridge closed and partially closed.
