CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. – An 88-year-old Crystal River man was killed in a crash involving a semi-truck on Monday morning.
The incident occurred around 11:55 a.m. on US-19 at the intersection of Dunnellon Road. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the man was driving a Ford Escape southbound on US-19 and attempted to turn left at the intersection. While turning, he drove into the path of a northbound tractor-trailer.

The collision resulted in fatal injuries for the driver of the Ford Escape. The driver of the semi-truck, a 50-year-old man from Georgia, sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
