POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A Winter Haven man was arrested Friday evening after being found on someone’s property under suspicious circumstances, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO).
Deputies responded to a report of a suspicious person in the area of Spirit Lake Road and Spirit Lake Drive, west of Winter Haven, at approximately 7:45 p.m. The caller reported that an unknown white male was seen inside a shed on her property.
Deputies quickly located the suspect, who was attempting to leave the area on a bicycle.

The suspect was identified as 44-year-old Brandon Scott Kuykendall of Winter Haven.
Initially, Kuykendall claimed he was on the property looking for a truck. However, he later admitted that he was looking in the shed for automotive parts. He stated that someone (whose identity he withheld) had told him six years prior that car parts were in the shed.
During the investigation, deputies found Kuykendall to be in possession of a crowbar and an EBT card belonging to someone else.

Brandon Scott Kuykendall was arrested by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and taken to the Polk County Jail. He was charged with:
- Burglary
- Grand theft
- Possession of burglary tools
- Possession of a stolen debit card
