Former President Donald Trump has been teasing voters about his possible vice presidential pick for November’s election.

The conservatives who visited CPAC over the weekend chimed in with their pick. And no, it’s not Nikki Haley.

As the Tampa Free Press reported last week, Trump announced his short list for VP.

The candidates included Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, biotech entrepreneur and former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, Rep. Byron Donalds of Naples, South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, and former Democrat Tulsi Gabbard.

DeSantis took himself out of consideration almost immediately, saying he was not interested in being Trump’s running mate, and Trump’s campaign tried to save face by saying DeSantis wasn’t being considered anyway.

A straw poll conducted of the attendees at the Conservative Political Action Conference was split between Noem and Ramaswamy.

Each of them received 15% of the vote, WLT reported.

Gabbard, a former Democrat, actually placed third with 9%, while Rep. Elise Stefanik, who has been rumored as VP fodder but was not on Trump’s announced list, and Scott followed, each with 8%.

Donalds was the choice of 7%, while Arizona Senate candidate Kari Lake got 6%.

Among others, former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson, DeSantis, and Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders each received 5%.

Others in the mix included pundit Tucker Carlson (4%), independent presidential candidate Robert K. Kennedy Jr. (3%), and Sen. J.D. Vance (2%).

CPAC did show Haley some love. She was backed by 2% on the possible VP ballot.
