RIVERVIEW, Fla. – Starting at 9 p.m. on Friday, July 12, Covington Garden Drive south of Big Bend Road (CR 672) will be closed to traffic until 5 a.m. on Monday, July 15. The closure will also be in effect the following weekend, from July 19 to July 22, weather permitting.
Detour: Motorists are advised to use the following detour route:
- Turn south onto Waterset Boulevard.
- Turn east onto Covington Stone Avenue.
- Continue east toward Covington Garden Drive.

Purpose: These temporary closures are necessary for crews to carry out drainage work across Covington Garden Drive. This work is part of the ongoing I-75 interchange improvements at Big Bend Road, which are expected to be completed in the summer of 2025.
Access: Access to businesses, residences, and emergency services will be maintained throughout the closure period. Drivers can expect to see advanced warning signs and electronic message boards to help navigate the detour route.
