BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – Cortez Boulevard (SR-50) will be closed to all traffic from the intersection of Cobb Road / W Jefferson Street (SR 50A) to Whitfield Avenue from 8 p.m. Thursday, May 25 to 6 a.m. Friday, May 26, weather permitting.
Crews will be installing a steel pedestrian bridge for the Good Neighbor Trail over all traffic lanes immediately north of Whitfield Avenue.
Local traffic on Cortez Blvd. will be maintained between Sheriff Mylander Way / Clinton Drive and Whitfield Avenue.

DETOUR: Traffic will be routed around the closed area using Cortez Boulevard, Mobley Road, and Sheriff Mylander Way. Motorists are advised to plan extra travel time to detour around the closed area.
This project is building a 12-foot-wide paved multi-use trail in Brooksville.
This segment of the Good Neighbor Trail will be built from west of the intersection of SR 50 and SR 50A along SR 50A/Jefferson Street to and through Tom Varn Park, then along US 41/Broad Street to Main Street, along Main Street to Russell Street.
Construction began September 12, 2022, and is expected to be completed in early 2025.
