With tongue fully inserted in cheek, the staff of the conservative Washington Free Beacon on Saturday handed out its “Man of the Year” awards.
One of the winners: Ghost.
The Free Beacon recalled President Joe Biden’s speech on April 14, a video of which the outlet posted on Twitter.
At the conclusion of his remarks, Biden turned to his right and stuck out his right hand for a moment as if to shake hands, with no one there or no one approaching him, before dazedly ambling off the stage.
The video has been viewed more than 16 million times.
The Free Beacon noted that the “ghost truthers” jumped into action at the time to “defend the mental dexterity of a doddering geezer.”
“They afflicted the comfortable by doing rapid response for the most powerful man in the world. Biden was simply ‘gesturing’ to the audience, they insisted. The video lacked ‘context.’”

“What a bunch of freaks. They think they’re saving democracy one fact-check at a time, fighting on the front lines of an intellectual war for America’s future, living meaningful lives,” the Free Beacon continued. “They know exactly what they saw. They saw a ghost like everyone else. But they’ll deny it to their graves, where no one will ever visit them.”
“This one’s for you, ghost,” Free Beacon concluded. “The haters and the losers tried to erase you from existence, but we wouldn’t let them and we never will because we know the truth. You’re a Free Beacon Man of the Year.”
While the Free Beacon’s satire was directed as much at Biden’s defenders as the president himself, The Free Press has noted that Biden has engaged with dead people.
Earlier this week, we reported on Biden’s story about getting his “Uncle Frank” the Purple Heart for his service in World War II.
Biden claimed that after he was elected as vice president in 2008, his father encouraged him to help Frank Biden obtain the Purple Heart medal he reportedly earned for fighting in the Battle of the Bulge but had never received.

Biden said he delivered on the request, only to have his uncle reject the medal in a fit of survivor’s guilt.
The problem with Biden’s account was that his uncle died in 1999, 10 years before he became vice president, and his father had passed away in 2002. There also is no record of Frank Biden being given the Purple Heart either while alive or posthumously.
Then, there was the White House event in September, when Biden searched the crowd in seeking to recognize Republican Rep. Jackie Walorski of Indiana.
“Jackie, are you here? Where’s Jackie?” Biden said to the crowd. “I didn’t think she was — she wasn’t going to be here — to help make this a reality.”
The problem on that occasion was that Walorski had died in a car crash more than a month earlier — something the White House had recognized with a press release.
