A 49-year-old Connecticut man was arrested Sunday after fleeing from Deputies on U.S. 1 with approximately an ounce of hallucinogenic mushrooms.
The New Haven resident was charged with fleeing and eluding, reckless driving, driving with an expired tag, and drug possession.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a northbound motorcyclist at approximately 9:07 p.m. near Mile Marker 32 for passing illegally.

The rider sped away, illegally weaving around traffic.
He fled from multiple Deputies several times. He was eventually found on Dorsett Drive attempting to hide the motorcycle in bushes.
The man was taken into custody, and 27.5 grams of hallucinogenic mushrooms were found in his jacket.
He was booked into the Monroe County Jail on a $90,000 bond.
