A formal complaint filed with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) by the Coolidge-Reagan Foundation alleges that Democratic Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett and the political fundraising platform ActBlue violated federal campaign finance laws.
The complaint centers on a series of contributions reported in the name of Randy Best of Plano, Texas. According to the filing, Rep. Crockett’s campaign reported receiving over 50 contributions from Best, totaling $595, between May 26 and November 4, 2024.
ActBlue’s reports indicate Best made 2,533 contributions totaling $21,517.37 between January 1, 2023, and December 31, 2024.

The Coolidge-Reagan Foundation alleges that Best, described as an unemployed 73-year-old retiree, did not actually make these contributions.
The complaint includes a video posted online by Sholdon Daniels, a potential congressional challenger to Rep. Crockett.
The video purportedly shows Daniels speaking with an elderly woman at Best’s address, who identifies herself as Best’s wife and claims to be unaware of any political contributions made in her husband’s name.
The complaint further alleges that ActBlue has been involved in a “larger scheme” to provide contributions in the names of unsuspecting individuals, potentially to shield the true source of funds and bypass contribution limits.

The document cites reports of “suspicious activity reports” filed by banks with the Treasury Department, and state-level investigations into ActBlue.
Allegations:
- Failure to Accurately Report Contributor Identity: The complaint alleges that Rep. Crockett’s campaign and ActBlue failed to accurately identify the true source of the contributions, violating 52 U.S.C. § 30104(b)(3)(A).
- Accepting Contributions in the Name of Another: The complaint alleges that Rep. Crockett’s campaign and ActBlue knowingly accepted contributions made in the name of another person, violating 52 U.S.C. § 30122.
- ActBlue’s alleged money laundering: The complient includes accusations that ActBlue has been used to launder hundreds of millions of dollars from foreign sources.
- Fraudulent donations: The Complainant cites reports of elderly citizens who state that donations were made in their names without their knowledge.
The Coolidge-Reagan Foundation requests that the FEC commence enforcement proceedings against Rep. Crockett, Jasmine for US, and ActBlue.
