Comfort Stations Open In Hillsborough To Aid Hurricane Helene Recovery

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – Hillsborough County and the City of Tampa are providing relief to residents impacted by Hurricane Helene through six comfort stations. These stations offer essential services such as showers, restrooms, laundry facilities, charging stations, and hot meals.

Currently Open:

  • Marjorie Park Marina, 97 Columbia Dr., Tampa, FL 33606
  • Desoto Park, 2617 Corrine St., Tampa, FL 33605

Opening Tuesday:

  • Apollo Beach Park & Recreation Center, 664 Golf and Sea Blvd., Apollo Beach, FL 33572
  • Ruskin Park & Recreation Center, 901 6th St. SE, Ruskin, FL 33570
  • Sandy Perrone Park, 5120 Kelly Rd., Tampa, FL 33615
  • Skyway Sports Complex & Park, 3901 George Rd., Tampa, FL 33634

Operating Hours:

  • Daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. until further notice.
  • Restrooms, showers, and laundry at county stations available later today.
  • Other amenities at county stations available tomorrow.
  • Device charging available at Hillsborough County libraries.

Meal Plans:

  • Monday Lunch: Desoto Park, Ruskin Park, and Skyway Sports Complex (American Red Cross); Apollo Beach Park and Sandy Perrone Park (Salvation Army).
  • Monday Dinner, Tuesday & Wednesday Lunch/Dinner: American Red Cross at all locations (lunch 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., dinner 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.).

  • Public spaces like libraries and malls offer air-conditioned refuge.
  • Water bottle refills available at County parks, libraries, and government buildings.
