A cardiologist in Colorado, Stephen Matthews, has been found guilty of 35 felony counts of assault and sexual assault involving 11 victims.
The 36-year-old doctor was accused of meeting women on dating apps, luring them to his home, and then drugging and sexually assaulting them.
Prosecutors presented evidence that Matthews used date-rape drugs to incapacitate his victims, although no such drugs were found in his home during the investigation. However, authorities did find hidden packages of Plan B pills and contraceptives.

Several of Matthews’ accusers bravely faced him in court during the verdict reading. One victim, who chose to remain anonymous, expressed her anger and frustration, stating that Matthews had stolen their memories and carefree lives.
Another victim, identified as Audrey, expressed hope that the case would deter future predators and show that women will be believed and their attackers will face consequences.
