CLEVELAND, OH. – Tanya Alahmad, a 46-year-old from Cleveland, Ohio, has been sentenced to 30 months in prison and ordered to pay over $46,000 in restitution for defrauding an elderly victim.

Alahmad pleaded guilty to mail fraud and aggravated identity theft after forging a power of attorney to steal from the victim.

Court documents reveal that between November 2019 and February 2022, Alahmad gained the victim’s trust by offering help with cleaning and errands. She then forged the victim’s signature on a power of attorney, enabling her to access the victim’s finances.
