Clearwater Traffic Alert: Drew Street On-Ramp To US-19 North Closing Nightly For Repaving

CLEARWATER, Fla. – Motorists planning to access northbound US 19 from Drew Street in Clearwater should prepare for nightly closures this week and into the weekend. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has announced that the northbound US 19 entrance ramp from Drew Street will be closed on the following nights:

  • Wednesday, March 12
  • Thursday, March 13
  • Sunday, March 16

The closures will occur nightly from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting.

During these temporary ramp closures, drivers will be detoured to alternative routes. Motorists can access northbound US 19 by using McMullen Booth Road and SR 590, or NE Coachman Road to the northbound US 19 entrance ramp from SR 590.

FDOT has placed advanced warning signs and electronic message boards to guide drivers through the detours. Motorists should anticipate potential delays during these nightly closures.

The closures are part of FDOT’s ongoing repaving project on US 19, spanning from Drew Street to Sunset Point Road in Pinellas County. This construction project is expected to continue until late 2025.
