CLEARWATER, Fla. – A 17-year-old Clearwater resident was arrested Saturday for making an online threat against Pinellas County Commissioner Chris Latvala.
The threat stemmed from a comment made by the teenager, identified as Brandon Corkran, on an X post discussing the new Tampa Bay Rays stadium. In the comment, Corkran tagged Commissioner Latvala and threatened to go to his house and shoot him.

“I live 5 minutes from him I’m gonna go to his house and blow his head off with my short-barreled,” said Corkran.
Commissioner Latvala reported the threat to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, prompting an investigation by the Threat Management Division.
Corkran subsequently turned himself in at the Pinellas County Juvenile Assessment Center and was charged with one count of Written Threats to Kill.
