PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – Clearwater Beach and many other Pinellas County beach communities are open and ready to welcome back visitors following the impacts of Hurricanes Helene and Milton.

Local leaders, including Clearwater Mayor Bruce Rector and Pinellas County Commissioner Brian Scott, made the announcement, emphasizing the resilience of the community and the tourism industry.

“Our city, public service and hospitality workers have all done amazing work getting our internationally known tourist destination back up and running,” said Mayor Rector. “Our resort hotels and many of our popular restaurants are open and ready to provide guests with an incredible experience.”

While some areas are still undergoing re-beautification and repair work, many popular spots are accessible and ready for visitors to enjoy.

“We appreciate the City of Clearwater and County workers who have worked so hard to prepare the beautiful beach to welcome back visitors. It’s important for everyone to know that St. Pete-Clearwater is Still Shining and ready to welcome residents and visitors to our beautiful beaches, amazing arts and experiences, and delicious coastal dining options,” said Brian Lowack, President & CEO of Visit St. Pete-Clearwater. “While our destination experienced a serious impact from the recent storms, we have many of our visitors’ favorite places open and ready to welcome guests. And we know we will continue to see more and more open in the coming weeks. Now is a great time to not just enjoy that walk on the beach, but also explore all the other amazing attributes that have made us America’s Favorite Beaches.”

Visitors should be aware of limited parking availability at Clearwater Beach as some lots are being used for sand clearing operations. Alternate transportation options, such as the Jolley Trolley and Clearwater Ferry, are encouraged.

Mayor Rector, who has been actively involved in the recovery efforts, urged the community to support local businesses and assist in cleanup efforts.

“Grab a bag, pick up litter and trash, and report things that aren’t quite perfect yet,” said Clearwater Mayor Bruce Rector. “Let’s all work together to get our beaches back to the world-class standard to which our visitors are accustomed.”
