CLEARWATER, Fla. – Clearwater Fire & Rescue paid tribute to the lives lost in the terrorist attacks 23 years ago.
At 9:45 a.m., firefighters at every station across the city gathered outside with their apparatus. A moment of silence was observed at 9:59 a.m., marking the collapse of the South Tower.

This solemn occasion honors the nearly 3,000 lives lost that day, including the heroic sacrifice of almost 350 New York City firefighters.
Fire Chief Scott Ehlers and city officials joined the remembrance at the city’s newest fire station, Station 46, on Clearwater Beach.
