CLEARWATER, Fla. – With two major events on the horizon, the City of Clearwater is preparing for a surge in traffic on Clearwater Beach this weekend.
The ReliaQuest Bowl Beach Day on December 29th and the Light It Up Clearwater New Year’s Eve celebration on December 31st are expected to draw large crowds to the area. Combined with ongoing construction projects, this could lead to significant traffic congestion, particularly along Coronado Drive and South Gulfview Boulevard.

To mitigate potential traffic headaches, the Clearwater Police Department and City Management are encouraging residents and visitors to consider alternative transportation options.
The Jolly Trolley will be operating on December 29th, providing transportation between Downtown Clearwater and the beach for those attending the ReliaQuest Bowl Beach Day.
The city is also reminding drivers to be patient and courteous on the roads, obey traffic laws, and be aware of pedestrians and cyclists.
