In accordance with statute, the first unofficial returns will be reported and certified on March 9 at 5 p.m., after provisional ballots and Vote By Mail cure affidavits have been reviewed and any additional votes tabulated.

The number of write-in votes currently reflects the total number cast, whether for a qualified candidate or someone else. Only votes properly cast for a qualified write-in candidate will be included in the certified results.

If the first unofficial returns reflect that a candidate for any office was defeated or eliminated by one-half of a percent or less of the votes cast for such office, a machine recount is triggered (FS 102.141). If the results of the machine recount are within one-fourth of one percent or less, a manual recount will then be conducted.

If a recount is required, it is scheduled to begin Friday, March 10, at 8 a.m.

The dates for the City of Tampa Municipal Runoff Election are as follows:

  • Deadline to register to vote (if not already registered): March 27
  • Early Voting: April 17 – 23
  • Election Day: April 25
