TAMPA, Fla. – The City of Tampa, in partnership with The Tampa Bay Juneteenth Coalition, is hosting the 5th Annual Juneteenth Flag Raising Ceremony and Festival on Friday, June 14th, 2024, from 11 AM to 2 PM.
This year’s event will take place at the City Center at Hanna Avenue Building in East Tampa, signifying a special move to the heart of the community.
Mayor Jane Castor, along with members of the Tampa City Council and the Tampa Bay Juneteenth Coalition, will lead the flag-raising ceremony at 11 AM. The event will continue with a vibrant celebration featuring music, local vendors, and complimentary food.

Highlighting the festivities will be performances and presentations by the Bay Area Drum Academy & Majorettes, the Blake High School Color Guard, the Nation’s Inaugural Miss Juneteenth, Saniya Gay, and Miss Juneteenth Tampa, Ada Scott.
This event promises to be a memorable and meaningful way to commemorate Juneteenth in Tampa Bay.
“This event not only commemorates a pivotal moment in our history but also celebrates the culture and contributions of the African American community in Tampa,” said Mayor Jane Castor. “We are thrilled to celebrate Juneteenth in such a significant way.”
