CRYSTAL RIVER, Fla. – The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) is actively investigating the death of a 67-year-old man discovered in his Crystal River home on Friday morning, treating the case as a potential homicide.

According to a statement released by the CCSO, the agency’s Communications Division received a call around 10:45 A.M. on Friday, April 11th, reporting a deceased male inside a residence on Cherry Wood Ct.

Responding deputies and Citrus County Fire Rescue personnel arrived at the scene and confirmed the death of the resident, later identified as Kyle D Pazian.

Due to what officials described as “suspicious circumstances” surrounding the death, detectives and crime scene specialists from the CCSO Criminal Investigations Division (CID) were called to the residence to lead the investigation.

Investigators are currently treating the death as a homicide. The CCSO confirmed that detectives are actively working the case and have identified several persons of interest who are being interviewed.

While the investigation is ongoing, the Sheriff’s Office stated there is currently no indication of a threat to the wider community. However, residents in the Cherry Wood Ct area can expect to see an increased law enforcement presence as investigators continue their work.

“Our Detectives are working diligently to provide answers to the Pazian family,” said Sheriff Mike Prendergast (assuming the current Sheriff, as “Sheriff Vincent” might be outdated if this text is older – checking current Sheriff if needed, but using provided name for now). “This does appear to be an isolated incident, and I would encourage anyone who has information related to this case to contact our Major Crimes section.”

The CCSO urges anyone with information relevant to the case to contact the Major Crimes section at 352-726-1121. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through Crime Stoppers at 1-888-ANY-TIPS (269-8477).
