WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – It’s been nearly 14 years since Christina Voltaire vanished from her apartment in Winter Haven, leaving behind a trail of unanswered questions and a family desperate for closure.
Voltaire, a 22-year-old student at Keiser University, was last seen on the evening of January 8, 2011, at her residence in the Berkshire Apartments complex. A friend, Charles Pierre-Gilles, who lived in the same complex, had borrowed her car earlier that evening. He returned to her apartment around 7:45 PM to find her gone, with no signs of a struggle and her personal belongings left behind.
Voltaire’s disappearance has baffled investigators and her family. She had been coping with the recent loss of her young daughter and was planning to move back to Palm Bay to be closer to family and continue her studies. There was no indication that she was suicidal or had planned to run away.

Adding to the mystery is the involvement of Voltaire’s ex-boyfriend, Dieuseul Pierre-Gilles, the brother of Charles.
Voltaire had reportedly confided in her father about Dieuseul’s alleged aggressive and jealous behavior, expressing fear for her safety.
Dieuseul, who was previously acquitted of aggravated assault charges in connection with a 2008 shooting, has denied any involvement in Voltaire’s disappearance and maintains his innocence.
